This policy is a working draft and has not yet been reviewed by counsel. It describes what the software actually does today. Do not rely on it as a legal instrument until this notice is gone.

Two different relationships

When you browse trueband.com, we decide what happens with the little data that involves, so we are the controller of it. When your firm connects its Orion account, everything that follows is your clients' data, processed on your firm's instructions. There we are a processor and your firm is the controller. The data processing terms cover that relationship in detail.

The website

We do not set advertising or analytics cookies and we do not run third party trackers. Cloudflare, which serves the site, keeps standard request logs including IP address for a short period for security and abuse purposes. Fonts are served by Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google when you load a page here.

If you email us or fill in a form, we keep what you sent so we can reply.

The application

Once your firm connects, Trueband reads household and account records, holdings, and performance from Orion, and portfolio, model, and tolerance data from Eclipse. It computes a drift record per household and stores that. Where an advisor records a video for a client, we store the video and its still frame. Where an advisor edits the email text, we store that text so it survives a page reload.

Client names and, where your firm has one on file in Orion, a client email address are part of that. We hold no account numbers, tax identifiers, dates of birth, or transaction history.

Client videos

A client watching a video from their advisor has no account with us and we do not create one. The page is reachable only through an unguessable link in the email their advisor sent, and it shows the video without any portfolio detail.

Who else touches it

Cloudflare hosts the compute and the storage. Microsoft receives the draft email, because the draft is created in your own Microsoft 365 tenant. Orion is the source system your firm already uses. We do not sell data and we do not share it with anyone else.

How long we keep it

Drift records are overwritten on each sync and expire if a sync stops running. Videos and draft text persist until your firm asks for them to be removed. Configurable retention is designed and not yet shipped, which is worth knowing before you sign anything.

Your rights

If you are a client of a firm using Trueband, your relationship is with that firm. Ask them, and they can ask us. If you are a firm, write to a@ashkaan.me and we will export or delete what we hold for you.

See it on fictional households first.

No signup, no call, nothing sends. It runs on fictional households and the buttons in it do not reach a mailbox. Questions it does not answer go to a@ashkaan.me.
